It’s 2019 people
Make a wedding website. Trust me on this one. Wedding websites are the future and you don’t want to be left behind. But, I’m not saying ditch all traditional mail for your wedding. We sent our save-the-dates via snail mail, and even our official invitations.
Wait, why did you have a website if you still sent physical invitations? Lemme es-plain.
The purpose of the wedding website is to make your guests lives easier. They can access it from anywhere, anytime, and if they lose the official invitation (which happens a lot), they can go online and find all your wedding details right there! Not convinced? Let’s look at the pro’s & cons:
Pros
Cons
- “Woops! I can’t find Lauren’s wedding invitation. What’s the address again?”- It’s online, duh.
- Fully customizable. Make it YOUR style. Give your guests a taste of what they can expect at your wedding!
- Destination wedding? You’re going to need a place to share details such as accommodations, transportation, weekend itinerary, nearby restaurants etc.
- Dinner orders? Set up the menu online so guests can choose their meals as they RSVP.
- RSVP’s! All rsvp’s are done online and can be downloaded directly to an excel spreadsheet. SO EASY.
- Share your engagement photos for your guests to ooze over before the big day.
- Registry! Create a registry page that links to your registry vendors so guests can easily purchase gifts for you!
- Save on the paper. Now you can keep your invitations to 1-2 pieces of paper max. No need for an envelope and return mailing label.
- Grandma might need a little help figuring out how to RSVP.
- The end.
Ready to start your website?
Let’s do this.
There are many popular wedding website platforms you can opt for:
But, if you want something truly unique, you have to dig a little deeper. Lucky for you, I did the digging. 😉
My fav? Bliss & Bone hands down. Bliss & Bone offered a beautiful layout that was fully customizable. And no, this is not sponsored or paid for. I found Bliss & Bone on my own and have recommended it to every bride I know. B&B offered the most attractive layout options and there was nothing I had to do to make it beautiful. The site is predesigned to perfection. All you have to do is plug in your photos & details and BAM, you’ve got yourself a stunning website.
Ready to take it up a notch? Purchase your own domain. Meaning no edmondandlauren@theknot.com. I purchased edmondandlauren.com from godaddy, as well as the Basic plan from Bliss & Bone for $12/month. #WORTHIT. “WOW” your guests by not only having your own wedding website, but also your very own website domain. Trust me on this one.

Yay! Of course! Oh shoot, I don’t remember the layout name. Actually, If I remember correctly, all the templates had the same layout, and once you started designing you could change layout aspects and images.
